Diploma of the European Council of ophthalmology (EBOD). Diploma part1 FRCS. Specialization for four years at the University of London. Specialization for two years at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London (fellowship glaucoma, anterior segment). For ten years, Postdoctoral Research Associate in the ophthalmology clinic of AHEPA hospital (corneal transplant section). Scientific Director and Head of the Division of refractive surgery at the Medical Center of Northern Greece, Interbalcanic.
Recognized Representative of Greece to the Council of the International Society of Refractive Surgery (HSIRS). Board Member of the Greek Society IOL and Refractive Surgery (EEEFDX). Secretary of the Panhellenic Ophthalmological Society (WTO). Member of the Medical Association of Thessaloniki, member of various medical societies (American Academy of Ophthalmology AAO, International Society of Refractive Surgery, ISRS, (American Society of Refractive Surgery and Cataract ASCRS, European Society of Refractive Surgery and Cataract ESCRS, Glaucoma Company of Great Britain and Ireland, Society of Refractive Surgery and Cataract of Great Britain and Ireland UKISCRS, EuCornea). Twenty-six published papers in 10 international journals and 16 greek ones. Invited speaker at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2006-2007). Invited speaker at several international conferences abroad and surgeon on live surgery via satellite. Decades of incident presentations at international conferences in Greece and abroad (ESCRS, ASCRS, AAO, ISRS, ISO, SOE, WOC). Continuous presence in ophthalmology conferences, Greek and international as well as scientific conferences. Founder of the IRIS ophthalmic centers in Larissa and Tirana. Co-founder of the “Model Ophthalmological Center of Thessaloniki” corneal surgery department responsible.
